The official partnership between the TAG Heuer replica watch brand and the Porsche sports car manufacturer was a natural choice. This unique texture, as rough as an asphalt track, was given to our test watch, the Carrera Special, symbolizing TAG Heuer's affinity with motor sports and the new partnership between replica TAG Heuer and Porsche. But when the lights go out, the continuously running six seconds and the chronograph's elapsed time indicator is unreadable. The Carrera name is relatively unobtrusive below the 12, or rather below the 60, which indicates the 60-second position of the full minute. Carrera is the connecting element between these two brands, whose paths have crossed again and again in fascinating ways over the decades. Carrera means "race" in Spanish, and the car race first brought Porsche and TAG Heuer together.

TAG Heuer recently released a quartz version of its new F1 Senna Special Edition. A few months later, the Swiss luxury watchmaker presented a new version with a robust automatic movement and a more robust design. Following the launch of Carrera's 160-year silver dial limited edition earlier this year, Tag Heuer has released its second collector's edition to celebrate the brand's 160th anniversary. The 160 Year Montreal limited edition Tag Heuer Carrera replica watches combines elements of Carrera with another cult classic clock from the 1970s. The inspiration behind this limited-edition timepiece, TAG Heuer says, stems from "fusing the designs and DNA of" the Carrera — introduced in 1962 by then-CEO Jack Heuer and named for the treacherous Carrera Panamericana road race — and the white Heuer Montreal, Ref. 110503W, a cushion-shaped, Micromax Chrono with a colorful dial that launched in 1972. The tribute model uses the in-house automatic Caliber Heuer 02 movement, a thinner movement than its predecessor, measuring 6.95 mm in thickness. It consists of 168 components, including a column wheel and a vertical clutch for the chronograph function, and boasts a power reserve of 80 hours. The vertical clutch, Heuer explains, improves the precision of the start-and-stop functions as well as the running of the chronograph second hand, ensuring no loss of time when using the chronograph function. The column wheel's presence, most pronounced when the wearer operates the push-buttons, offers a more accurate and precise functionality, with a frequency of 4 Hz. Heuer explains that the vertical clutch improves the accuracy of the start-stop function and the operation of the stopwatch's second hand, ensuring that the replica tag Heuer does not lose time when used. It is the 55th year of the Carrera, and the TAG Heuer never pulls punches when it comes to celebrating the occasion. And while at-a-glance readability may not be this Carrera's strongest attribute, the red GMT hand does pop against the open-worked dial, as for me, I didn't mind letting my eyes linger for just some seconds more. Of course, it is not for everyone, but how boring the world would be if we all loved the same things. If you're interested in something sporty and live a jet-set life then this one is for you. Or maybe you'd just like an in-house integrated chronograph with an extra GMT complication. I think how instantly smitten I was with this one. I have to say that the previous replica tag Heuer Carrera 01s never much appealed to me.
